About Dr. D's Original Barbeque Sauce

Fifteen years ago in North Carolina, I started tinkering with a barbeque sauce in my backyard. I kept tweaking, tasting, and fine-tuning until I found what I was after: an authentic sauce that brings people together, with a balance of sweet, smoky, and just the right amount of heat. I cooked for family and friends at cookouts, graduation parties, birthday celebrations, and tastings, and it quickly became the sauce everyone asked me to bring. Friends kept telling me, “You should bottle this.” That encouragement sparked this venture.
Today, Dr. D’s bottles that same recipe. We make it with the same care it had at my table from day one. Around here, it is more than a condiment. It stands for family, friends, and the flavor of good times shared around the grill.

Meet Dr. D
Dr. Chris DePerno is the founder of Dr. D’s Original Barbeque Sauce and a lifelong outdoorsman from Michigan. He holds a Ph.D. in Wildlife Management from South Dakota State University, an M.S. from Purdue University, and a B.S. from Central Michigan University, and has worked professionally in South Dakota, Minnesota, Indiana, and North Carolina. For more than 22 years, he has served on the faculty at North Carolina State University, where he teaches wildlife management and conservation of natural resources. When he’s not teaching, he enjoys hunting, fishing, golfing, hiking, and cooking. Dr. D's Original Barbeque Sauce grew out of years of sharing great food with family and friends.
