For nearly two decades, I have called NC State home. I did not just find a job—I found a purpose. NC State's land-grant mission of serving all of North Carolina is something I believe in. Throughout my career, I have been fortunate to serve the people of North Carolina while helping students grow, gain confidence and find their path.
Slobberin' Sauce started the same way—shared at cookouts with students, friends and family. What began as a simple idea grew into something bigger. Today, Slobberin' Sauce is my way of giving back to NC State, celebrating the Wolfpack spirit and supporting students, with a portion of every purchase going to student scholarships.
Slobberin' Sauce is more than a sauce. It is NC State, community and a little piece of the journey.

ABOUT SLOBBERIN’ SAUCE
Slobberin’ Sauce is a family-owned, small-batch barbeque sauce proudly made in North Carolina. Developed over more than 15 years, the recipe was refined through countless backyard cookouts and family gatherings, where it was shared with students and friends.
Crafted without high fructose corn syrup, Slobberin’ Sauce delivers a balanced flavor profile featuring subtle sweetness, bright vinegar tang, gentle smokiness, and a pepper finish that enhances food rather than overpowering it.
Inspired by North Carolina's two iconic barbeque traditions, Slobberin’ Sauce combines the bright vinegar tang associated with Eastern North Carolina barbeque with the richer body and subtle tomato character found in Lexington-style barbeque. The result is a balanced, versatile sauce that appeals to a wide range of barbeque enthusiasts while honoring the state's rich barbeque heritage.
Whether served on ribs, pulled pork, chicken, brisket, burgers, vegetables, or anything fresh off the grill, Slobberin’ Sauce is crafted to let the flavor of the food shine.
THE STORY BEHIND THE SAUCE
More than fifteen years ago, I began experimenting with barbecue sauce in my backyard. Batch after batch, I kept tweaking the recipe until I discovered the balance I was looking for—a sauce that brought together sweet, smoky, tangy, and peppery flavors into one authentic North Carolina barbeque sauce.
I shared it with family, friends, and students at cookouts, parties, and celebrations across North Carolina. Before long, people were asking me to bring "Dr. D's Sauce" to every gathering, and eventually they started saying, "You should bottle this."
That encouragement became Slobberin’ Sauce.
Today, every jar is produced with the same attention to quality that went into those original backyard batches. While production has grown, the philosophy remains unchanged: make a great barbeque sauce using quality ingredients that bring people together around good food.
THE NC STATE UNIVERSITY COLLABORATION
Slobberin’ Sauce Sauce is the first officially licensed co-branded barbeque sauce developed in collaboration with NC State University.
The partnership celebrates North Carolina agriculture, outdoor traditions, and NC State's land-grant mission. A portion of all proceeds supports NC State student scholarships while
introducing consumers to a uniquely North Carolina product.
COMMUNITY COMMITMENT
From the very beginning, the mission of Slobberin’ Sauce Sauce has extended beyond making great barbecue sauce. The goal has always been to give back to the communities that have supported us and to invest in the next generation.
Dr. D's is committed to supporting students and local organizations throughout North Carolina. To date, we have proudly sponsored organizations and events including the Raleigh Rugby Football Club and the Annual Meeting of the NC State University Student Chapter of Delta Waterfowl. As the company grows, so does its commitment to supporting local communities, outdoor traditions, and educational opportunities.
Through its collaboration with NC State University, a portion of proceeds from co-branded products will also support student scholarships, further advancing the university's land-grant mission and helping prepare the next generation of leaders.
Dr. D's, success is measured by more than the number of bottles sold, it is measured by the positive impact we can have on our communities, our students, and the people who gather around the table.
