Ingredients

  • 1 rack of pork spare ribs
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 1 jar Dr. D’s Original Barbeque Sauce

Equipment

  • Charcoal grill (we used Weber)
  • Charcoal chimney
  • Charcoal
  • Sauce mop

Instructions

  1. 1

    Rib Preparation

Rinse the ribs and pat dry thoroughly. Remove the underside membrane. Season evenly with your favorite rub.

  2. 2

    Grill Setup

Charcoal: Light a charcoal chimney and allow the coals to heat for about 10 minutes until fully ignited. Heat Zones: Create a one-zone grill by pouring the hot coals evenly in the grill. Temperature: Preheat the grill to 350–450°F, ideal for even cooking.

  3. 3

    Cooking Process

Arrange the ribs on the indirect heat side of the grill. Cover the grill and cook at approximately 250°-300°F for 60 minutes. Flip, cover again, and cook an additional 60 minutes. Wrap the ribs in aluminum foil and cook for another 2 hours.

  4. 4

    Sauce Preparation

Warm Dr. D’s Original Barbeque Sauce in a saucepan over low heat. Do not allow the sauce to burn.

  5. 5

    Finishing

Unwrap and place over the coals. Mop with sauce and cover for 1-2 minutes. Watch closely to prevent burning. Flip and mop with sauce, cover for 1-2 minutes. Flip and give a final mop.
